About Life with My Spaniels

Hi everyone! I’m Jen, the human behind Life with my Spaniels, where life is all about my dogs and exploring the beautiful UK countryside. My two spaniels, Alfie (3) and Dougie (2), are my constant companions and the heart behind everything I share here.

These days, our adventures look a little different. Dougie (our reactive rescue) lives with IVDD and hip dysplasia, so we’ve learned to find a balance between the fast lane and the slow lane - swapping big summit hikes for gentler trails when we need to, but still making sure we don't miss out, and savouring every moment we spend outdoors together. It’s been a journey of adapting, slowing down when necessary, and celebrating the small wins, and it’s made our adventures even more meaningful.

From wandering the fells of the Lake District to taking things at a slower pace through the Cheshire countryside, we’re still discovering incredible dog-friendly destinations - just in a way that suits us all.

Over the years, I’ve become a bit of an expert on all things dog-friendly, from accommodation and apparel to the best walking trails and experiences, and I love sharing those discoveries with other dog parents.

This blog is a space to connect with a community of dog lovers and share honest, relatable content about the joys (and challenges!) of life with dogs.
