A Cosy Dog-Friendly Getaway at Rowley Farm

Rowley Farm feels like a proper countryside escape. Surrounded by open fields and tucked far enough away from the hustle and bustle, it’s really quiet -  but still close enough to local walks and small towns when you fancy exploring. The farm is home to a handful of converted barns, each one beautifully finished, and our stay at the Stables was welcoming, and just right for a relaxing break.

You know how much we love a place that makes the dogs feel like honoured guests, and Rowley Farm does that perfectly. There’s plenty of safe outdoor space for zoomies, no “off-limits” rooms or awkward rules, and thoughtful touches like treats, throws and towels for muddy paws. It made the whole stay so stress-free and enjoyable. Not to mention the on-site dog wash - an actual revelation in my opinion!!!!

Cosy Interiors & Thoughtful Touches

Inside, the barn struck the perfect balance between rustic charm and modern comfort. Think exposed beams, a big comfy sofa and a log burner that became our evening go-to spot. We had everything we needed for an easy, relaxing stay -  from a well-equipped kitchen to a private garden where we could sit out with a coffee in the mornings, or a cheeky cider in the evenings after soaking up the sunset in the woodfired hot tub!.

Our Hike to the Malvern Beacon

One of our favourite days was spent hiking up to Malvern Beacon. The trail was gorgeous - gentle hills, wide open views, and plenty of sniffing opportunities for the boys. The climb to the top was so worth it, with panoramic views that seemed to stretch forever. It was one of those walks that makes you feel like you can breathe a bit deeper.

Cooking with Local Produce

This trip we decided to mostly cook for ourselves, which turned out to be a lovely part of the holiday. We stopped at Top Barn Farm Shop on the way and picked up fresh fruit, veg, and some delicious locally made bits for dinner. There’s something about cooking with fresh, local ingredients that makes a simple meal feel extra special -  especially when you can enjoy it with a glass of wine back at your cosy barn.

Dog-Friendly Pubs Nearby

If you fancy heading out for food instead, there are some brilliant dog-friendly pubs nearby. A few favourites worth mentioning:

  • The Holt Fleet - A lovely riverside pub where you can sit outside and enjoy views over the Severn with the dogs by your side.

  • Lenchford Riverside Inn - Another great spot on the river, perfect for a relaxed lunch after a walk.

  • The Nightingale - A friendly pub in Worcester where dogs are welcome in the bar and there’s always a bowl of water waiting.

It’s such a bonus having plenty of dog-friendly options so close by -  it means you can enjoy a meal out without worrying about leaving the dogs behind.

Why We Loved It

Our stay at Rowley Farm was exactly what we needed: slow mornings with coffee, countryside walks, evenings by the fire, and a very happy, tired spaniel. It’s the kind of place that makes you want to switch off your phone and just enjoy the simple things - and that’s exactly what we did.

If you’re planning a dog-friendly getaway in Worcestershire, we can’t recommend Rowley Farm enough. Whether you want a quiet weekend for two, an active break with the dogs, or just a change of scenery, it’s a place that will have you planning your next trip before you’ve even left.
